The Player Course

The Player Course is sprinkled with deciduous trees and classic white pines. This course takes players through our apple orchards and offers ample elevation changes throughout the design. The Player Course rewards well-positioned drives and accurate iron play with 34 bunkers protecting relatively small greens. This course can be played from 4,667 to 6,600 yards and offers a stellar mix of par 3’s that average 210 yards from the tips. On holes 11 and 13, golfers are treated to 360-degree views of southern Connecticut’s picturesque landscape.

COURSE ARCHITECT / Gary Player

player_architect.jpgGary Player has won 165 professional golf tournaments worldwide and is one of only five men to capture golf's coveted Grand Slam. Off the course, Player has raised over $50 million for underprivileged children's education globally through the efforts of The Player Foundation.

He has designed over 300 golf courses worldwide. His experience has afforded him a unique understanding of the needs of the average golfer and the concerns for the environment.

The cornerstone of his design approach is to create playable and memorable golf courses within the constraints of a given site while being sensitive to the surrounding environment.

Gary Player has approached every project with utmost regard for the natural vegetation, wetlands, and habitats, in each case striving to create "a gift to nature."
